Imagine having comprehensive product information from the entire wool value chain, accessible via a simple QR code on the garment. That is what has been achieved in the project the Fiber Traceability Initiative.

Traceability and transparency in the value chain is essential in order to comply with the upcoming EU-regulations, such as the Digital Product Passport.

In this webinar, you will learn about a concrete example of how traceability and transparency in the wool value chain can be achieved - from farm to sweater. In this project, brands and suppliers have collaborated in completely new ways to make the data accessible.

The technical solution builds on supplier data which is compiled in a digital platform. The data is transferred throughout the supply chain and finally embedded in a QR code inside the final product. By scanning the QR code, customers can get a complete understanding of the garment's journey. Additionally, the QR code enables brands to guide customers on care, repair, and resell.

The Fiber Traceability Initiative is led by Axfoundation, and project partners are GS1 Sweden, Filippa K and VirtualRouteZ.
