TCO Certified, the global sustainability certification for IT products, has tightened the requirements for certified products to ensure traceability. In the latest generation of TCO Certified, a new criterion called the “Unique Product Identifier” has been introduced. The updated requirements ensure that certified products are equipped with a URL-based unique product identifier, enabling traceability and enhancing transparency throughout the product’s lifecycle. TCO Certified mandates the use of Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) and recommends that brand owners use GS1 Digital Link for the URL-based product identifier.
To help all GS1 Member Organisations better understand the new TCO requirements and how to respond to customer inquiries, GS1 Sweden is hosting an informative webinar in collaboration with TCO Certified.
In this webinar, you will gain insights into the new requirements and their impact on brand owners, buyers, and sustainability efforts in the IT sector. We will explore how the new identification system improves traceability, simplifies product identification in databases and trading systems, and facilitates reuse and recycling.
